Tech City launched in 2010 by David Cameron as hub to support the growing tech cluster in East London known as London Tech City have today announced the first recipients of the the Upscale pilot programme.

The upscale programme will help scale-up tech businesses with expert coaches who have been influential in building up some of the most innovative and successful digital businesses. The coaches include: Niklas Zennstrom the founder of Skype, Sarah Wood the Co-Founder of Unruly and Alex Chesterman Founder and CEO of Zoopla. 

Of the 30 digital start ups selected to take part in the initiative four data analytics companies and two property companys were selected along with companies specialising in E-Commerce, Fintech, Edtech, and Software Development. 

Gerard Grech, CEO of Tech City UK, said: “Upscale from Tech City UK is a grassroots initiative to coach the next generation of UK-based entrepreneurs. Upscale has been built from the ground up, using direct feedback from company founders, investors and ecosystem partners. I’d like to welcome everyone aboard and thank all of our advisors and friends who helped this take off.”
