Heron Tower steps up lettings 19th September 2011

A third of Heron International’s Heron Tower is now let or under offer. The Bishopsgate office development is being marketed in two phases with approximately 60% of the space brought forward in the first phase Gerald Ronson’s Heron this morning confirmed that: investment manager Partners Group will move into 13,000 sq ft on the 14th floor; foreign exchange broker City Credit Capital has taken 6,000 sq ft on part of the 12th floor; derivatives trading firm Chicago Trading Company will move into the 16th floor, taking around 12,000 sq ft; and Lithuanian bank Snoras has signed for 13,000 sq ft on the 20th floor. Quoting rents are £62.50 per sq ft. Heron said that “a number of other floors” are also under offer. Landmark, the luxury serviced offices provider, has taken floors 17-19 (available from Flexible Office Space), and US law firm McDermott, Will & Emery, occupies the eighth and ninth floors. The ground floor bar and restaurant has been let to Drake & Morgan and is now open trading as The Drift. SushiSamba has taken the restaurant and sky bar at the top of the building and will open its first European location there early next year. Peter Ferrari, managing director of property at Heron International, said: “As one of only very few new developments to come onto the market this year, with excellent green credentials and a number of unique features, Heron Tower is a truly special building, providing the very highest quality office space right at the heart of the City. Interest in the development remains strong and we look forward to announcing further lettings in due course.” Mark McAlister, head of City agency, said that following a fall back in leasing activity in Q2 the market was seeing good activity in terms of smaller deals. "There are a lot of smaller deals proving that there is life in the City market outside of the barometer buildings." Flexible Office Space are marketing both serviced office and managed office space at Heron Tower.
